For our first major project for 2015, Ken and I, inspired by an antique toy created by Bliss, designed a wonderful sliding door Santa Claus Cabinet.
The dimensions are 15" long with the doors closed, 25" long with the doors open x 13" high x 4" deep
. Not only does this project include complete building instructions and graphics for the cabinet, it includes the cabinet itself. Also we include the pattern for a Victorian Santa doll approximately 11" to 12" tall plus 7 die cut toys. They include a doll buggy, a flexible flyer sled, a doll house, a wagon, a Santa boot, a doll trunk and an ark. We even include the little wheels and axels so you will have all of what you need to complete these toys included right in our kit. And if you didn't want to display with a Santa doll, a Bleuette would fit very nicely into this display case as well with toys perfectly proportioned to fit her. A doll utilizing a 9" fashion body could also work in this display.
Here is what's included in this auction:
Complete building plans for the Santa Claus Cabinet with 13 photos and full parts list.
The actual fully constructed cabinet ready for you to paint.
Complete antique designed graphics to cover the sliding doors of the cabinet front on five 8-1/2" x 14" pages which include two options. One says "Santa Claus Cabinet Full of Toys" on it and a second choice has no writing. Also included are four options for the sign board on the top of the cabinet.
Complete graphics to cover all the included die cut toys where shown with complete instructions for all.
A very early cardstock Santa candy box to cut out to display along with all the die cut items.
A pattern for an 11" to 12" Santa doll including the body, coat, hat, shirt, vest, pants, and apron designed especially for this project by Amy Erickson with lots of photo details showing all the sewing steps. The actual Santa doll used is from Collectible Doll Company and is mold no. 626 Victorian Santa Claus.
Complete technique with lots of photos of chalk painting to finish the cabinet interior and exterior. This technique makes the cabinet look old which is the whole idea in our concept as this is an antique reproduction. I have used Annie Sloan chalk paint and Meltonian shoe cream to complete the process although any paint would work.
A complete overview and description of the entire project outlined in an organized step by step procedure.
Each packet for the die cut toys includes the axels and wheels or other small parts needed to complete each toy in most cases.
Four cardstock die cut little tools to display in Santa's apron
Please note we also offer a workbench to be displayed in front of the cabinet. The idea is to hang Santa's hat and coat inside the cubby hole in which he is now standing so he can be working at his workbench standing slightly outside the display case. Displayed  this way, other toys may be added to enhance the whole concept. I show a few porcelain snow babies, a 3" all bisque googlie doll, and a felted wool bear pull toy. These items are not included in this project but shown to inspire you.
Here is a complete list of the contents of the assembled cabinet:
    The cabinet back wall.
Both sides, the top and the bottom wood pieces.
One vertical and two horizontal interior shelves.
    Two front sliding doors.
All four decorative molding strips, two for the top of the case and two for the outer sides of the doors.
Two support blocks, one long main wooden sign background and four embossed decorative molding strips cut with mitered corners to frame background sign.
Extra wooden strips cut to create the "tracks" which support the two sliding doors.
This kit does not include any graphics which must be purchased in this auction.
Please note that this auction is for a flat packet of graphics, photos, cardstock and chipboard die cuts, complete instructions, and 6 garment patterns and instructions plus  the wooden cabinet. You must provide all the dolls to display and you must finish your own shop using your paint.
