This is a full band 2400 - 2484 MHz
outdoor
802.11 WiFi / WLAN / ISM / unlicensed spectrum 2.4 GHz filter.
This covers CH1-CH13 of WiFi in 2.4GHz band.
The design is 8 pole cavity.
This filter is rugged and IP67 rated.
There is a thick layer of corrosion resistant paint, it is likely that the filter is salt fog ASTM G85 A2 rated or can be easily painted on top of existing paint.
Built by Trilithic - a well-known high quality RF microwave company.
Size: 4" length without N connectors, 5.5" with N connectors included, 2" width, 1.25" height
Supports 802.11b, 802.11g and the 2.4GHz portion of 802.11n.
802.11n adds MIMO - essential for high performance / high reliability links, as MIMO significantly mitigates multipath fading.
The filter is fixed and cannot be retuned to a different center frequency due to layers of anti-corrosive paint.
***Note on lightning protection:
a number of cavity filters offered in the general marketplace (including this one) are DC / LF shorted, which offers a low impedance path between center and outer conductors for low frequency signals such as lightning (spectral content up to 2 MHz) . This path does NOT constitute "full lighting protection" by itself. Full lightning protection involves proper grounding of the entire lighting protection element, including outer conductor and consideration of full ground path.We recommend using a lightning arrestor from Times Microwave or Huber Suhner, properly grounded to a metallic superstructure such as metallic mounting pole, mast, or grounded building entry panel.
